Oneonta has 2 colleges (SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick). It is a growing community with a mall, department and grocery stores, and several churches from various denominations.

Southside Wesleyan NY has a long and proud history of providing outreach and support to our communities. We have included a partial list of our successful community programs.

Some of our most successful programs include:

• Ladies Oasis - we asked ladies to bring in health/beauty/hygiene products to be donated to the Family Service Association. We were pleased to have 10 grocery bags full of products.
• Angel Tree - this is the first year that we put up an Angel Tree at church. We had a late start, but our church families bought for 13 children locally through this program. Can't wait to see what next year brings.
• Backpack program - we worked along side a local elementary school to provide food for needy children in this community.
• Shoebox Ministries (Operation Christmas Child) - both shoeboxes and monies collected to support this ministry.
